直线式干燥时间测定仪工作原理：

将制备好的漆膜试板放在试板托盘上，接通电源，电机通过丝杠带动划针做匀速直线运动（六个托盘每两个为一种时间即6h、12h、24h，全程为305mm）。由于漆膜随时间延长而逐渐干燥，因而划针在漆膜上的犁痕由宽变窄，由深变浅，以至A后划不出痕迹，从而显示出干燥情况的全过程。

直线式干燥时间测定仪使用说明：

★ 依涂膜的干燥快慢，选择适当的时间（6h、12h、24h）。

★将划针抬起，将大提扭向上抬起，推滑动座至左端，将如前所述制备好的试样放在托盘上，放下划针和大提扭。

★ 接通电源，按下电源开关，指示灯亮，再按下相应的分开关，指示灯亮，划针开始做匀速直线运动，到终点自动停止运动，而后将开关关闭。

★取下试板之前，在启始点做一记号，再分出各个干燥阶段，而后取下试板与时间标尺对照，便可判断出整个干燥过程的各个阶段所用的时间，亦可用计时表测量（注：计时表应与划针启动同步）。

★ 砝码重5g，插在划针上部，一般用于漆膜较厚或干燥后较硬的场合。

★ 试验后将玻璃试板上的涂料及划针头部的粘附物洗去，擦干以备下次使用。
